Nonesuch beast

As I was planning the implementation of the survey content-type on Haptic, I stumbled on an article called "The nonesuch beast".

Can't recall exactly how I got there, but this is a must read.

[…] you can have a complex system with lots of features, or you can have a simple system with few features. But not both.

I couldn't make the whole article since I have a very short attention span 😅 but the above quote is 👌. Always need to keep this in mind.

I think highscore domains is also getting complex now. Leaderboard, domains, profiles, and without an explainer no one would understand what this is all about. Have to rethink this (which I'm constantly doing even while in bed 😂) and give a clear message with less pages/features

I feel this with HyperWriter as well. It's pretty complex and there's lots of pieces that feel unpolished or out of place now (bones/cards mostly).

Kind of want to delete half the features sometimes. 🔥 Or maybe even split it into multiple products? 🤔

Guys, it's a process of exploration. You have to go to some extreme (having lots features) in order to distill what's essential and what's not. You cannot know what's essential right off the bat.

So I think we're all doing great job with our products. We just need to be mindful that whatever we add now might turn out to be useless down the road and we should be ready to trim features and make things simpler anytime :)

Thanks Borislav :). Yeah I agree. I've already hidden the whole community aspect of HyperWriter. Although it would be nice to bring it back in some form it was the right decision for now. Feel like I could do that with my other features as well. Might experiment with that 🤔.
